Cathcart joins AMCATS in Fall 2023

Aston, PA – The Philadelphia Little Flyers, members of the Eastern Hockey League are proud to announce the college commitment of Assistant Captain Caleb Cathcart to Anna Maria College to further his education and hockey career.  Cathcart, a 5’11” 170LB 2002 birthyear forward from Detroit, Michigan is in his second season with the Little Flyers EHL team.  As a rookie, Cathcart was a part of the highest scoring offense in the EHL, scoring 17 goals and adding 17 assists in 45 regular season games.  “As an organization we are all very proud of Caleb and what he has accomplished in two years with the Little Flyers.  In that time, we’ve seen him round out his game and become a more mature hockey player especially in our defensive zone.” Said Little Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Mark Catron.  “Caleb takes his role as a leader in our organization seriously, getting on the ice with his billet brothers 2008 Little Flyers team at least once a week to help those younger players out.  That’s what it’s all about at the end of the day, being a good member of our hockey community and being a leader.  I’m excited to see Caleb play at the NCAA level next season with the AMCats.” Concluded Catron.

“I’m very proud to announce my commitment to Anna Maria College to continue my academic and athletic career.  I’d first like to thank God for all he has done. I also would like to thank my family for all they have done for me to play this great game. Lastly, I’d like to thank Coach Catron, Anthony Lorusso and my teammates for being a second family. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to play for Coach McCauley and his staff. Go Amcats!” said Cathcart upon making his commitment official on Wednesday evening.

This season, Cathcart was named an EHL South All-Star, representing the Little Flyers and EHL in an exhibition game against UCHC member Lebanon Valley College.  Cathcart has played in every game for the Little Flyers this season.  In 39 games, he currently has 5 goals and 14 assists.  The Anna Maria College AMCats, located in Paxton, Massachusetts are led by 5th year Head Coach David McCauley who has been with the program since its inaugural NCAA season in 2018-19.

On behalf of the entire Philadelphia Little Flyers Organization, we would like to congratulate Caleb and his family on Caleb’s NCAA College Commitment to Anna Maria College and thank him for his outstanding leadership and contributions both on and off the ice to the Philadelphia Little Flyers organization.
