Little Flyer Captain Austin Kelly Commits to Wisconsin Stevens-Point

The Philadelphia Little Flyers are proud to announce that Little Flyer Captain Austin Kelly has committed to attend University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to continue his education and playing career.  Kelly, who is a 5’11, 180lb Right Shot Centerman, has played in 113 regular season games over 3 seasons for the Little Flyers EHL team. During that time Austin has registered 46 goals and 61 assists for 107 points, including 19 powerplay goals and 18 powerplay assists. He also has 58 penalty minutes and 6 game winning goals. Wisconsin- Stevens Point, a member of the WIAC conference, is currently ranked #4 in the country and is one the top Division 3 Universities in the country. The Pointers have appeared in the NCAA Division 3 National Championship game in each of the past two seasons.  “Austin is an excellent player but an even better person.” Said Little Flyer Head Coach Rocky Russo. “He has an outstanding work ethic both on and off the ice that will translate to being an asset to Coach Brooks and the UWSP program and the University.” Kelly commented, “I would like to thank my parents, teammates, Coach Russo and Mr. and Mrs. Giacobbo for helping me reach my goal of being an NCAA Student-Athlete. Playing for the Little Flyer organization has been a tremendous experience. ” Kelly also added, “I am very excited to get the opportunity to be a student-athlete at such a prestigious university as Wisconsin Stevens-Point. I am thankful to Coach Brooks and his staff for giving me this opportunity and I can’t wait to help the Pointers win a National Championship.”

Kelly and the Little Flyers travel to Manchester, NH this weekend to square off with the NH Monarchs, Northern Cyclones and Boston Jr Rangers at the EHL Showcase. All games can be watched live at www.fasthockey.com
