Higginbotham Commits to Stevenson University

6th Little Flyer to Make NCAA Plans

The Philadelphia Little Flyers are proud to announce that Little Flyer 95 Right Winger Tim Higginbotham has committed to attend Stevenson University to continue his education and playing career.  Higginbotham is a 6’1, 190lb Right Shot Forward that hails from Cleveland, OH.  Higginbotham joined the Little Flyers after playing his inaugural year of Junior Hockey for the Vermont Lumberjacks of the EHL Premier Division. In 22 games for the Lumberjacks he notched 2 goals and 2 assists and added 33 penalty minutes.  He broke out in his season with the Little Flyers, notching 19 goals and 16 assists in 29 games played. He also led the EHL Premier Division with 12 Powerplay goals. He was equally effective in the playoffs, scoring 1 goal and adding 4 assists in 9 games. Stevenson University is a member of ECAC-West and coached by Dominic Dawes.   “Tim was a tremendous asset for our team this season.” Said Little Flyer Head Coach Rocky Russo. “He was a big contributor on the ice but also a leader in the locker room. His work ethic in the gym is contagious and his ability to lead by example is second to none. I have no doubt that Tim will be a key factor in Stevenson University having success in their 1st season.” Higginbotham commented, “I would like to thank my family, teammates, Coach Russo and Coach Curley, and the entire Little Flyer Organization for helping me reach my goal of being an NCAA Student-Athlete. This group was very special, and although we didn’t quite reach our goals, I will never forget the time that I spent here. ” Higginbotham also added, “I am very excited to get the opportunity to be a student-athlete at such a prestigious university as Stevenson. I know that we are a 1st year program but I am certain that Coach Dawes and his staff are building a team that can help us compete to win a National Championship.”

Higginbotham is the 6th member of the Little Flyers 2015-16 team to make a college decision joining- Austin Kelly (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point), Braden Mitchell (University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire), Bruce Stachitas (Stevenson University), Adem Arifi (Milwaukee School of Engineering), JC Moritz (Neumann University)
