Dallas Christmas, Adopting Happy & More

Each day from now until Christmas we will sit down and talk to a player from the Little Flyers Eastern Hockey League Junior Team to discuss the holiday season.  On day twenty three we talked to defenseman #28 Cameron Bartkoski

  1.  Favorite thing about Christmas or Winter?  “For sure the lights.  A lot of the bigger neighborhoods in Dallas go all out and its fun to drive around and see them”
  2. Favorite Christmas tradition growing up as a kid? “Every Christmas all of my Dallas family goes over to my Grandpa’s house after mass and we eat dinner together and play white elephant”
  3. What are you looking forward to most this holiday season?  “Going home for Christmas and New Years will be great.  I’m excited to see my parents and my other family and friends, plus it won’t be as cold down there……. Hopefully”
  4. Favorite Christmas Food?  “Easily my mom’s green bean casserole.  Its one of the few times I’ll eat vegetables”
  5. Favorite Christmas Movie?  “I’m going to have to go with Home Alone but Elf is a close second”
  6. Favorite Christmas Song?  “Run Run Rudolph by Chuck Berry”
  7. Most Memorable Christmas? “A couple of years ago my parents and I flew out and surprised my grandparents in North Carolina on Christmas Day”
  8. Best gift you’ve ever received? “My dog Happy.  We got her on Christmas Eve at one of the SPCA centers when we were just looking around but we didn’t plan on adopting a dog so my dad was a little surprised when he came home and saw we had a third dog”
  9. Worst gift you’ve ever received? “dress socks”
  10. Do you shop early or last minute? “It really depends on who I’m shopping for, but most of the time its last minute”
  11. Hardest person in your family to shop for? “Probably my dad.  If I can’t find anything for him I normally have to resort to a gift card”
  12. If you had to pick either Kevin McCallister from Home Alone or Ralphie from a Christmas story to play on a line with?  “Kevin, he’s very  smart and crafty”
  13. Hot Chocolate or Egg Nog? “Hot Chocolate”
  14.  If you could get one gift this year what would it be? “Probably some gift cards to Nike and iTunes”
