Aston, PA – Earlier today the Eastern Hockey League announces the TSR Hockey Stars of the Month for December.  Two members of the Little Flyers received December honors, Cameron Bartkoski as defenseman of the month and Sam Kany as Goalie of the month.  The Little Flyers went 7-0 in December to finish the 2016 calendar year at 27-0-1, the seven December victories saw the team score 25 goals while only allowing 8 to their opponents.

Cameron Bartkoski, a 1997 birth year defenseman from Dallas, Texas currently has 17 points (4 Goals, 13 Assists) on the season in 23 games played.  Bartkoski had two multi point games in December, a two assist game against division rival Jr. Flyers on December 7th and a three assist game against the Northern Cyclones at the Simsbury Showcase on December 17th.  “Cam has been a huge part of our success this season.  He is a smart puck moving defenseman that is capable of playing in all situations.  He is patient and poised under pressure and makes great decisions with the puck and his contributions on the Powerplay are a big reason for our successes with the man advantage thus far” said Little Flyers General Manage and Head Coach Rocky Russo.

Sam Kany, a 1996 birth year goalie from Phoenix, Arizona is in his second season with the Little Flyers EHL team.  Kany was almost unbeatable in the month of December, while posting a 3-0 record Kany stopped 85 of the 87 shots he faced, posting a 0.71 GAA and a .978 save percentage for the month.  For the season Kany currently is second in wins (13), save percentage (.944) and Goals Against Average (1.38).  With his 13-0-1 record this season thus far Kany is now 31-6-2 in 39 career starts in the EHL for the Little Flyers.  While his on ice performance has been nothing short of spectacular, Little Flyers General Manager and Head Coach Rocky Russo knows the value of his second year goaltender off the ice as well “Sam has been a fantastic leader on and off the ice for us all season.  His compete level and maturity are very important to our culture and atmosphere that we try to create here.”

Kany, Bartkoski and the Little Flyers, winners of 27 straight games will begin 2017 with a road trip up north to face the Boston Bandits on Sunday, East Coast Wizards on Monday, and Vermont Lumberjacks on Tuesday.  The Little Flyers will play their first 8 games of the 2nd half of the season on the road before returning home on January 25th
