08 Team Scores 19 Goals in Two Win Weekend

Little Flyers Weekly Roundup 10/28 & 10/29

Aston, Pa – Here is a look back at this past weekend’s games for all Little Flyers teams for October 28th & 29th at the youth hockey level in AYHL action. 

10U Squirt Minor 08 (NEXT AYHL GAME:  SAT 11/4 HOME vs VF Minutemen)
SAT 10/28 - In game one of three against the RoughRiders on the weekend, the Little Flyers lost a close game 2-1.  Emmett Wheatley scored the lone Little Flyers goal.  Grant Gale made 17 saves in net for Philadelphia.

SAT 10/28 – The Little Flyers offense dominated the visiting RoughRiders in game two of the weekend.  Aiden Delfin led the way offensively with 5 points (3 Goals, 2 Assists) in the game.  Keane Naugle, Cole Gargon (2), Emmett Wheatley, Charlie Dietz, Sam Flood and Nash Grant all scored for the Little Flyers in the 10-1 victory.  Grant Gale picked up the win in net. 

SUN 10/29 – On Sunday, the Little Flyers offense stayed hot, winning the rubber match in the three game series by a score of 9-3.  Dylan Orr, Emmett Wheatley and Keane Naugle each scored two goals in the game.  Grant Gale won his 2nd game of the weekend, making 10 saves.
 

12U Pee Wee 05 (NEXT AYHL GAME:  11/5 HOME vs Mercer Chiefs)
SAT  10/28 –
Casey Johnson scored one goal and added two assists in Saturday’s 7-3 loss to the CT RoughRiders.  The RoughRiders capitalized on special teams, scoring four power play goals in the game.  Ryan Harris was busy in net for the Little Flyers, making 32 saves. 

SUN 10/29 – Nick Jarmain scored the lone goal of the day for the Little Flyers on Sunday against the RoughRiders.  Connecticut’s power play was clicking once again, accounting for three goals in a 6-1 win for the RoughRiders.  Cody Butikis made 36 saves in net for the Little Flyers.     
 

14U Bantam 03 – (NEXT AYHL GAME: 11/19 at Virtua Hockey)
SAT 10/28 –
John Lee scored the lone goal for the Little Flyers in Saturday’s game against the North Jersey Avalanche.  The Little Flyers fell to the Avalanche 7-1.  Ryan Burgess made 36 saves in net for the Little Flyers. 

SUN 10/29 – The Little Flyers offense couldn’t get it going on Sunday against the Washington Little Capitals, falling by a final score of 4-0.  Ryan Burgess and Liam Cunningham combined for 18 saves in net for the Little Flyers.

16U American 01/02 (NEXT AYHL GAME: 11/4 HOME vs New York Saints American)

SUN 10/29 – The Little Flyers hosted New Jersey Colonials for two games on Sunday.  In game one, the Colonials edged out the Little Flyers 1-0.  Zachary Wellman’s 32 saves kept the Little Flyers within striking distance but the team was unable to light the lamp in this one.

In the afternoon game, the Colonials got the best of the Little Flyers taking the game by a final score of 2-0.  In net for the Little Flyers, Tyler Cassidy made 36 saves.    

16 U Elite 01/02 (NEXT AYHL GAME: 11/4 HOME vs New Jersey Colonials Elite)

SAT 10/28 – Vinny Starzi, Drew Iannucci and Julian Boisclair tallied two points each in the 5-1 win against the Minutemen.  Max Hunt made 26 saves in a winning effort for the Little Flyers.  Jack Page’s even strength goal was the eventual game winner.
