Little Flyers Weekly Roundup 11/11 & 11/12

Aston, Pa – Here is a look back at this past weekend’s games for all Little Flyers teams for November 11th & 12th at the youth hockey level in AYHL action. 

10U Squirt Minor 08 (NEXT AYHL GAME: 11/18 @ Long Island Royals)
 

12U Pee Wee 05 (NEXT AYHL GAME: 12/10 @NJ Devils Youth  )
SUN  11/12 –
Cody Butikis faced 53 shots in net for the Little Flyers on Sunday against the New Jersey Devils Youth.  Casey Johnson’s power play goal was the lone score the Little Flyers as they fell to the Devils Youth 8-1.  Eric McHale picked up an assist on the Johnson goal. 

 

14U Bantam 03 – (NEXT AYHL GAME: 11/19 @ Virtua Hockey)
 

16U American 01/02 (NEXT AYHL GAME: 11/18 @ Long Island Royals)

SAT 11/11 –  The Little Flyers hosted New Jersey Avalanche for a pair of games on Saturday.  In the morning game, the Avalanche out shot the Little Flyers 29-10 winning the game 6-0.  In the afternoon game, the Avlanche took a 2-0 lead in the first period but Steve Roccia answered back in the second period cutting the NJ lead to one with an even strength goal.  The Avalanche scored two goals in 32 seconds in the third period to take a commanding 4-1 lead.  Tim Crane added a goal for the Little Flyers later in the period but it wasn’t enough as the Avalanche won game two 4-2.   

SUN 11/12 – The Little Flyers hosted the Jr. Flyers on Sunday at IceWorks.  The Jr. Flyers offense got hot in the third period scoring four goals.  Tim Crane scored the lone goal for the Little Flyers which was unassisted.  The Jr. Flyers outshot the Little Flyers 35-15 on their way to a 6-1 victory. 

16 U Elite 01/02 (NEXT AYHL GAME: 12/10 @ North Jersey Avalanche)

SUN 11/12 –  Vinny Starzi led the offense scoring two goals and adding an assist in the Little Flyers 5-1 win over the New York Saints.  Nick Corrado (1 Goal, 1 Assist),Jeff Leap and Matt Meldrum each added one goal in the victory.  Lee Wheeler stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced in the game.
