Little Flyers AYHL Weekly Round Up: September 15 & 16 2018

Aston, Pa – Here is a look back at this past weekend’s games for all Little Flyers teams for September 15h & 16th 2018 at the youth hockey level in AYHL action.

10U Squirt Major 2008 – Saturday 9/15 - Little Flyers (3) Avalanche (6) - Sam Flood led the way for the Little Flyers scoring two goals in the second period including one on the power play, Emmett Wheatley assisted on both of Flood’s goals.  Cole Gargon gave the Little Flyers a brief 3-2 lead before the Avalanche tied the game at 3-3 heading into the third period.  Gargon’s goal was assisted by Aiden Delfin.  The Avalanche pulled away in the third period to win the game 6-3.  Grant Gale made 14 saves in net for the Little Flyers.

Sunday 9/16 – Little Flyers (0) Minutemen (5) – Grant Gale made 15 saves for the Little Flyers on Sunday at home against the Valley Forge Minutemen but couldn’t get the offense going while generating 15 shots on goal.


12U Pee Wee Minor 2007 American – Saturday 9/15  GM 1 - Little Flyers (0) Saints (7)
GM 2 - Little Flyers (3) Saints (2) 
The Little Flyers hosted the New York Saints for two games on Saturday.  In game one, Jacob Aranda made 20 saves in net in a 7-0 loss.  In game two, the Little Flyers offense found the back of the net three times in the third period.  Blake Ditalia led the way scoring two goals, including the eventual game winner.  Gerald DiStefano assisted on both of Ditalia’s goals while Tyler Newby had the primary assist on the first.  Latham Hutchinson scored his first goal in a Little Flyers jersey at the 12:20 mark of the third period.  Davis Fairbanks made 27 saves in net while picking up the win.

Sunday 9/16 – Royals (5) Little Flyers (3) – Sunday the Little Flyers traveled to Long Island to face off against the Royals.  Landon McRae and Alec James scored in the first period to give the Little Flyers a 2-1 lead after the first, James’ goal was assisted by Luca Varriale.  The Royals took back the lead with two second period goals.  Gavin Keller tied the game back up for the Little Flyers 1:04 into the third but a Royals power play goal midway through the period gave them the lead and eventually added an empty netter with under a minute to play to win the game 5-3.  Jacob Aranda made 28 saves for the Little Flyers. 

14U Bantam Minor 2005 American – Little Capitals National (4) Little Flyers (0) -  In a cross over game against the Little Capitals National team on Saturday, the Little Caps outshot the Little Flyers 32-12.  Bobby Kennedy made 11 saves in 21 minutes of play while Vladi Bryzgalov made 17 saves in 26 minutes.
