Master Joining Mustangs in 2019

Aston, PA --  The Philadelphia Little Flyers, members of the Eastern Hockey League are proud to announce 1998 birth year forward Austin Master, has committed to attend Stevenson University in the Fall of 2019 to continue his education and hockey career.  Master, a 5’ 10” 165lb forward from Broomall, Pennsylvania is in his first full season with the Little Flyers EHL Team.  “The addition of Austin this year was huge for our team; he’s probably one of the best two way players in our league.  As you can see by his numbers he was huge on the power play this year, kills penalties for us, he does it all.  Austin is a solid all around hockey player in all aspects of the game, we are really happy for him to be going to Stevenson and look forward to him having a great college career down there” said Little Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Mark Catron.  In 49 games played this season, Master scored 33 goals to go along with 47 assists for 80 points, tying him for 2nd best in the league in total points.  Master’s 33 goals also ranked second overall in the league.  The Stevenson University Mustangs are coached by Head Coach Dominick Dawes and Assistant Coach Tom Peffall; the Mustangs are members of the United Collegiate Hockey Conference.

“I am proud to announce I’ll be continuing my academic and hockey career at Stevenson University for the fall of 2019. First, I would like to thank my family for all the support they have given me throughout my hockey career. Next, I would like to thank Coach Catron, Coach Narrigan, Giacobbo family, and the The Little Flyers Organization for giving me the opportunity to play here and helping me prepare for college. Lastly, I’d like to thank Coach Dawes and Coach Peffall for giving me the opportunity to play at Stevenson university” said Master last week upon making his decision.

As Coach Catron mentioned, Master was a major contributor to the Little Flyers dangerous Power Play Units.  With the man advantage this season, Master scored 17 of his 33 goals and registered 24 Power Play assists.  In Providence at the EHL Frozen Finals, Master powered the Little Flyers past the East Coast Wizards in game one of round robin play, scoring two goals leading Philadelphia to a 4-3 win.  On behalf of the entire Little Flyers Organization we congratulate Austin and his family on Austin’s college commitment and thank him for a great season in the Little Flyers jersey.
