On Wednesday, August 28th at 6:00pm - The Little Flyers Girls Program will be hosting an educational evening for parents, coaches and players of the U12, U14s and U16s, from a program developed by Shriner’s Pediatric Orthopaedic Hospital of Philadelphia.
The program is called FIERCE (Female Initiative: Evaluation and Rehabilitation Care Excellence) and is led by orthopaedic surgeon Corina Franklin, MD, and focuses on keeping female athletes on the field (or ice for us).
They will be presenting their educational program with our girls that will be interactive and discussion based on overall health, strength and physical training and nutrition for female athletes.
The following medical staff will be in attendance:
Dr. Cronina Franklin – Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Bethany Lipa – (concussion management – Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation)
Alexandra Kazim – Physical Therapist
Mark Bulson – Physical Therapist, Director of Rehab
This is a great opportunity for our hockey family as whole – the staff will provide the program to the girls from 6:00pm – 7:15ish (girls will dress for practice) and then will stay for Q&A with the parents and coaches.
