2nd Year Forward to Lead Little Flyers Premier Team

Aston, PA --  On the Eve of the opening puck drop of the Eastern Hockey League’s 7th season,  Philadelphia Little Flyers Premier Head Coach and General Manager, Mark Catron has named second year forward Luke Headman as Captain of the Philadelphia Little Flyers Premier Team.  Headman, enters his second season with the Premier Team, after scoring 14 goals and adding 19 assists for 33 points in 34 regular season games in his rookie season playing Juniors.  “Luke is a captain in every sense of the word for our team” said Little Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Mark Catron.  “Luke came in last season as a third/fourth line player and worked really hard on and off the ice to improve all aspects of his game and that is what you want from your Captain.  Someone that is willing to go out there and leave everything on the ice or in the weight room, he is a real lead by example guy” Catron continued.

“This is a huge honor for me, being named Captain especially for such a great organization like the Little Flyers.  Obviously we had a great year last season, coming up just short in the Finals up in Providence and I want to get us back there.  I know our group of veterans want to get back to that Championship game this season and I think we have a lot of good young talent in that locker room that I’m proud to be leading and setting the example for this year” said Luke Headman after being officially named Captain.  Headman is the 3rd Captain in Little Flyers Premier history, following Ryan Sharkey and current EHL defenseman Ryan Baccino.  Headman and his teammates start the EHL Premier season on Sunday September 8th as they host the Philadelphia Revolution at 10:45 AM.
