Aston, PA --  The Little Flyers EHL team was in Haverhill, Massachusetts this past weekend for the EHL Veterans Day Showcase.  In game one of the weekend, the Little Flyers played the Seacoast Spartans at Paul T. Gilmartin Arena on Sunday evening.  Thomas McLarnon got the start in net for the Little Flyers and came up big all game long for his team.  Ryan Candia opened the scoring for the Little Flyers, taking a feed from Kevin Brown on the door step of the Spartans net and put the puck in the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.  Holding a 1-0 lead, the Little Flyers capitalized on a power play opportunity to extend the lead.  Tyler Marvil dished the puck to Kevin Brown who sent a cross ice pass to Soren Bredeson in the circle who fired a puck past the Spartans goaltender to go up 2-0 with less than five minutes left in the first half.  With under a minute to play in the period, Tyler Marvil showed off his hands when he took a cross ice pass from the newest Little Flyer, Tanner Caldarola, dangled past a Spartans defenseman and put a wrist shot home to take a 3-0 lead into the locker room.  Down the other end of the ice, McLarnon and the Little Flyers defense kept the Spartans off the board, making 11 saves in the half.  The second half was a penalty filled one with the two teams combining for 17 penalties in the frame.  The Spartans managed to score a power play goal with less than seven minutes to play but that would be all that McLarnon and the defense would allow as the Little Flyers took this one home by a final scored of 3-1.  McLarnon finished the game with 23 saves.

On Monday, the Little Flyers faced off against the always tough Boston Jr. Rangers.  From the opening puck drop until the final buzzer, Little Flyers 1999 forward Kevin Brown had his imprint all over the game.  Brown opened the scoring just 2:38 into the game taking a long stretch pass from the versatile Cam Lindsay who dropped back to play defense in this game for the Little Flyers who were shorthanded on the back end.  Lindsay’s pass sprung Brown into the Jr. Rangers zone where Brown sent a wrist shot into the back of the net.  Three minutes later, while short handed, Brown set up Brett Turner all alone in front of the Jr. Rangers net to take a 2-0 lead.  Tyler Marvil extended the Little Flyers lead to 3-0 with a power play goal, taking a drop pass from Will Smith and sending a wrist shot into the back of the net.  The Little Flyers kept their foot on the gas as Lindsay found Brown once again to take a commanding 4-0 lead just 11 minutes into the game.  Ryan Baccino started the play by sending the puck cross ice to his defensive partner Cam Lindsay, Lindsay sent the puck to a cutting Brown at the Jr. Rangers blue line where Brown split the Boston defensemen and deked the goaltender to slide the puck past him short side.  Two and a half minutes later, The Fresh Prince Will Smith, put the Little Flyers up 5-0 two minutes later, causing a turnover deep in the Jr. Rangers zone taking the puck to the front of the net and roofing one under the cross bar.  Adrian Morales stood tall in the first half, allowing one goal on 18 shots to take a 5-1 lead into intermission. 

The Jr. Rangers cut into the Little Flyers lead in the early minutes of the second half with a power play goal.  Boston closed the gap again ten minutes later to cut the Little Flyers lead to 5-3.  With the momentum shifting in the Jr. Rangers favor, it was Brown once again that had an answer.  Intercepting a D to D pass at the Little Flyers blue line, Brown picked off the pass and turned on the speed through the neutral zone to go in on a breakaway, scoring his third goal of the game.  With less than five minutes remaining in the game, the Jr. Rangers once again cut the Little Flyers lead back to two at 6-4.  In an attempt to send the game to overtime, Boston pulled their goaltender which allowed Brown to seal the game with an empty net goal that was assisted by Co-Captain Jake Berg and Soren Bredeson.  Morales picked up the win in the game, making 30 saves.
