10U Girls Go 3-0 on the weekend

Aston, PA

Girls 19U -  The 19U Little Flyers had a great weekend, posting a 2-0 record and not allowing a goal.  In Game one of the weekend, Hannah Gordon held Montclair scoreless with a 21 save shutout.  Cecilia Jenkins led the way offensively registering a goal and an assist in a 3-0 Little Flyers win.  Julia Weiss and Nikki Wood each scored a goal, Lindsey Coffey and Lexi Lombardi each picked up an assist in the game.

The Little Flyers offense came to life in a big way in their second game of the weekend.  Several Little Flyers players had multiple point games including Morgan Thrush and Lindsey Coffey who both lit the lamp three times in the game to led the Little Flyers to a 9-0 win.  Allie Corser-James was all over the ice for the Little Flyers scoring two goals and dishing out two assists.  Nikki Wood ( 1 Goal, 1 Assist), Joyce Sun (2 Assists), Nicole Fitzgerald (1 Assist), Cassie McFadden (1 Assist), Julia Weiss (1 Assist) and Jasmine Clough ( 1 Assist) all tallied points in the game.  Caelie McFadden stopped all 12 Snider Youth shots she faced, the Little Flyers did not allow a goal against on the weekend while picking up two wins.

Girls 10U - The 10U Little Flyers started their weekend of play Friday evening in a home, non-league contest against the Lady Flyers, out of Voorhees.  Though the Lady Flyers are a mixed team with several 14U players, the Little Flyers were able to hold off most of the offensive pushes, holding them to one goal.  The Little Flyers outshot the visiting Lady Flyers by a 43-13 count.  The Little Flyers were led with goals by Allison Sha, Riley Zimmerman, Allora Serpentine and Olivia Friedberg.  The Little Flyers won 5-1, with strong goaltending from Sadie Raughley, her first start in net.

Saturday brought the team to an early 7:00 am start in league play at Wintersport in Willow Grove. The girls got the better of the Lady Royals 7-3, with goals by Sha (3), Friedberg (1), Lebel (1), and Klotzbach (2). Clevens got the win in net.

The girls really shined on Sunday afternoon in league play vs the Lady Patriots, at home. The Little Flyers girls became the first team to shutout the Lady Patriots in league action, with a decisive 3-0 win, not only lifting them into second place, but locking their spot in the playoffs.  Allison Sha scored the first two, and Allyson Dembzynski sealed the deal netting the third goal. The Little Flyers dominated their opponent possession wise, and out shot them 27-12. Carly Clevens minded net with another league shutout, stopping all 12 shots.
