BOX SCORE

Thirty-one days in between games?

No problem.

Mikey Giampapa picked up right where he left off in Friday’s 3-2 shootout win over Team Maryland at Ice World, scoring both Philadelphia goals in regulation play.

The Ridley native has found the back of the net seven times and has chipped in two assists in just five games since rejoining the Little Flyers last month.

PLF improved to 11-11-1 this season with the victory and currently sits three points behind Team Maryland, with one game in hand, for second place in the EHL South Division.

Notable goals
Giampapa gave Philadelphia a 2-1 lead in the third period off a 3-on-1 rush. Connor MacDonell and Robbie Seewagen picked up assists for pushing the puck up ice. Giampapa was looking backdoor to repay the favor to Seewagen but his pass attempt appeared to deflect off a Team Maryland defender and into the net.

And how about Jake Frankenfield's game-winner in the shootout? The 2000 birth year entered with a nice burst of speed and found some space blocker side to beat Oliver Quinn in the second round of the skills competition.

Power play
Giampapa's first score of the afternoon came on a power play just 1:29 into the second period. Scott MeGraw teed up Dante Gattone for a one-timer from the point and Gattone's rebound bounced right to Giampapa for an easy tap-in.

It was the lone man advantage out of six attempts that the Little Flyers converted on.

Penalty kill
Philadelphia had a strong showing on the PK. They successfully killed six out of seven shorthanded situations.

Team Maryland's one conversion came on a 5-on-3 advantage with just one minute and five seconds remaining in regulation.

Goalie report
Have yourself a day, Joseph Henson. The 2001 birth year was spectacular between the pipes, earning 29 saves on 31 shots.

Even better? Henson was a perfect 3 for 3 in the shootout.

In five games this season, he's 3-2-0 with a .916 save percentage and 2.56 goals-against average.

Loose pucks
MeGraw has a team-high 29 points in 22 games this season. He's recorded at least one point in 12 of his last 14 games. ... MacDonell has a goal and three assists during his current four-game point streak. ... Philadelphia has the fourth-best penalty kill in the EHL at 82.8 percent.

Up next
The Little Flyers are back in action on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They'll host the Protec Jr Ducks for an 11:30 a.m. matchup at IceWorks Skating Complex.
