The Philadelphia Little Flyers of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) are pleased to announce that 18U forward Byron Hartley has signed a North American Hockey League tender agreement with the Amarillo Bulls of the NAHL’s South Division.

Hartley, 18, just completed his second season playing in the NAPHL and second season overall with the Little Flyers. The 5’11/175 lbs. native of Parkwood, PA, helped the Little Flyers 18U team to the NAPHL 18U Dixon Cup Championship game during the 2020-21 season.

Hartley was selected to and played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game, where he had a goal for Team Demko.

Hartley led all 18U players in scoring during the 2021 Dixon Cup Playoffs, recording 19 points (9 goals, 10 assists) in six games played.

During the NAPHL regular season, he led the Little Flyers 18U team in scoring with seven points in eight league games.

During the 2019-20 season, he was named to the NAPHL’s 18U All-East Division Team, recording 40 points in 16 NAPHL regular season games.

He is the first players from the Little Flyers to sign an NAHL tender so far this season.

A tender is a contract, of sorts, a player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Each team is granted ten (10) tenders, which include two (2) tenders exclusively used on players from the NAPHL - plus or minus any trades - which became active on Nov. 1. Tendered players are not eligible for the 2021 NAHL Draft.
