Philadelphia Little Flyers Girls vs Delco Phantoms

U12 St. Patrick’s Day Tournament

The U12 Little Flyers Girls and the Delco Phantoms participated in a real “barn burner” of a game today at Ice Works Skating Complex.  Although the game ended in a 5-5 tie, the game really could have gone either way as the lead changed hands several times during the game.  Both teams gave it all they had today with team effort and skill on display for all to see.

The U12 Little Flyers Girls tied the game up at one with a tick tac toe goal starting from “Zeus” Klotzbach moving the puck from the corner to Kiera Dumas on the point who in turn moved the puck to Darby Tisdel in the slot who put it home for the Flyers first goal of the game.  Ali Dembzynski scored the second for the girls as she finished on a nice rush coming up from the defense position. Zeus Klotzbach got on the scoreboard as she finished on a nice goal in the third period to tie the game up at three.  The Power play also clicked for the girls today as Caroline Coen and Allison Sha scored a couple dirty power play goals late in the game to put the team up 5-3 late in the third period.  Both Little Flyer goalies, Casey Mitchell and Selene White battled hard in net, as always.

A little luck and a questionable penalty call late in the game allowed for the Delco Phantoms to claw back and tie the game 5-5 which is where it ended. We all know that everyone hates a tie game, but all of the players on the ice today should be proud of their work as it was a fun one to watch.
