Defenseman set to join Penmen this fall

Aston, Pa – The Philadelphia Little Flyers, members of the Eastern Hockey League are proud to announce Ryan Clear’s NCAA College commitment to further his education and hockey careers at Southern New Hampshire University.  Clear, a 2000 birth-year defenseman from Cherry Hill, NJ played for the Little Flyers for one season but played two prior seasons in the EHL and EHL Premier Leagues.  Clear appeared in 34 total games for the Little Flyers, logging big minutes on the blue line.  The 5’11” 180LB defenseman showcased his offensive play making ability by scoring 8 goals and dishing out 13 assists for 21 points.  “Ryan did it all for us this season, he had previous EHL experience which helped us throughout the season since we had a younger team.  The biggest thing he brought to us was his versatility, there were several occasions where we needed him to play forward for us and he did a great job.  Ryan’s work ethic really showed through this season on the ice and in the weight room, he is going to be a great asset and collegiate player for Southern New Hampshire” said Little Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Mark Catron.

“I would like to say thank you to my family for always supporting me in my dream of playing college hockey, and also a huge thanks to the Little Flyers organization, to coach Catron and Anthony Lorusso, for helping me achieve my goals, and all of the teammates I’ve played with along my EHL journey.   None of this would be possible without them. I am very excited to continue my hockey career at Southern New Hampshire University this fall” said Clear upon making his commitment official over the weekend.

As Coach Catron mentioned, Clear was a versatile player for the Little Flyers EHL team this past season, starting several games at the forward position due to injuries and players out of the lineup.  The Southern New Hampshire Penmen are members of the Northeast 10 conference under the leadership of Head Coach Sean Walsh.  On behalf of the entire Little Flyers Organization we would like to congratulate Ryan and his family on the NCAA Commitment to Southern New Hampshire University.
