Wright Named to Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament Team

Aston, Pa --  The Philadelphia Little Flyers Hockey Club, member of the Atlantic District, are proud to announce 2009 birth year goaltender Aidan Wright has been chosen to represent the district and play on the Philadelphia Flyers Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament team.      

The Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament is the most prestigious minor hockey tournament in the world. It takes place in the beautiful city of Quebec at the Videotron Center and the Pavillon de la Jeunesse, and allows 144 teams from all over the world to enjoy an unforgettable experience each year. After more than 60 years of existence, the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament is still a place of unforgettable encounters and memorable souvenirs where thousands of players aged 11 and 12 come defend the colors of their teams. The great names of hockey such as Brad Park, Guy Lafleur, the Gretzky and Howe brothers, Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Steven Stamkos and many more have all participated in this event at one point in their career.

Wright, a 5-foot, 100-pound goaltender from Springfield, Pennsylvania, began playing hockey at the age of six. The 2021-22 season will be his second in the Black and Orange with the Little Flyers. 

“I’m excited to make the team and will continue to work hard to make sure I’m ready for Quebec," Wright said when asked about what he is looking forward to about the experience of playing in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Tournament. . "I’m really looking forward to competing with great teams from around the world."

“This is a great honor for Aidan, we are very proud of him for all of his hard work," said Philadelphia Little Flyers Hockey Club President Stephane Charbonneau.  "I’ve had the pleasure of coaching him for the past several seasons and know what kind of competitor Aidan is.  We know he will represent our organization, the Atlantic District and Philadelphia Flyers Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament team to the best of his ability."

The 62nd Annual Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament is scheduled to take place February 9th – 20th, 2022.
