The Philadelphia Little Flyers, proud members of the Mid-Atlantic Woman’s Hockey Association and National Girls Hockey League are proud to announce 19U Goaltender Sydney Babin’s NCAA college commitment to Wilkes University to further her education and playing career.  “I am very excited to see how Sydney will continue building on her successes at the college level. Coming off a strong season and playing in the Championship game at Nationals, I knew we could count on Sydney in net. A big part to this season's success has been Sydney's strong play and not to mention the team's confidence when she is in goal. Sydney leads by example, has a strong work ethic and competitive nature that makes her an outstanding performer under pressure” said Little Flyers Girls 19U Head Coach Ken Deming.  The Wilkes University Colonels are led by 4th year Head Coach, Earl Utter and compete in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC). 

“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to Wilkes University where I’ll be continuing both my academic and athletic careers. I would like to thank the Philadelphia Little Flyers program for supporting me in my decision and my hockey career since day one. I also wanted to thank everyone else who helped me along the way. You know who you are being friends, family, coaches and teammates. Without all of your love, support and guidance through both of those careers I wouldn’t be the person or player I am today. I promise to continue making this program and those people proud as I continue to grow.  Thank you to Coach Utter and Wilkes University for giving me this opportunity!” said Babin after making her commitment official. 

Babin has been stellar in MAWHA league play this season as the Little Flyers currently sit atop of the standings with a record of 20-0-1 with one game remaining for the regular season.  Babin is amongst the league leaders in all major goaltending categories including Wins (16), Shutouts (6), Save Percentage (.956) and Goals Against Average (0.77).  On behalf of the entire Philadelphia Little Flyers Organization we would like to congratulate Sydney and her family on Sydney’s NCAA commitment to Wilkes University and thank her for her contributions both on and off the ice to the Philadelphia Little Flyers Organization.
