EHL Premier: Finley, Basich, Law and Lawless Named Captains for 2022-23 Season

Aston, PA -- The Philadelphia Little Flyers, members of the Eastern Hockey League are proud to announce Ian Finley, AJ Basich, Tyler Law and Dan Lawless have been named Team Captains for the 2022-23 EHL Premier season.

“We are a very young, inexperienced team this season, so it was important to get the guys together early and teach them the way we want to do things from practice structure to workouts, game day prep, recovery and so on” said Little Flyers Premier Head Coach and General Manager Mike Narrigan.  He continued “These four guys are all high character individuals that constantly put the work in to get better each day and that can pave the way for us to have success and grow together as a team”. 

Ian Finley will wear the Captain’s C, a 2003 birthyear forward from Brookhaven, PA is in his second season with the Little Flyers Premier team.  Through 16 games this season, Finley has matched his point totals from last season with 4 goals and 5 assists already. 

Tyler Law, the most experienced junior player on the roster, enters his 4th season with the Little Flyers Premier team.  He is currently the franchise leader in games played with 120 regular season games under his belt and will be relied on heavily to help mold the young Little Flyers defensemen.

AJ Basich, returns to the Little Flyers for his second full season.  A year removed from a trip to the Frozen Finals, Basich got a good taste of what it takes to be successful at the EHL Premier level in his first year of Juniors.  The physical defenseman has played in 16 games this season with two assists. 

Dan Lawless, a rookie at the Junior level will be the final player to wear an ‘A’ as an Assistant Captain.  The versatile 2003 player has seen time at both defense and forward this season, doing anything he can to help the team compete.  Coming from the Little Flyers 18U program last season, Lawless has scored one goal and added 5 assists through the first third of the season. 

The Little Flyers Premier team is back in action this weekend with a home and home series against the Union Jr. Thunder on November 19th & 20th.  Sunday’s game will be on home ice at IceWorks Skating Complex at 4:00 PM
