Brawley signs with Knoxville of the SPHL

Aston, PA – On Wednesday afternoon, The Plymouth State University athletic department announced former Little Flyers EHL goaltender, Brendahn Brawley has signed a professional contract to continue his hockey career with the Knoxville Ice Bears of the Southern Professional Hockey League.  Brawley, a 6’2” native of Morton, PA finished his collegiate career in March with his 3rd MASCAC Championship, Tournament MVP honors and being named to the MASCAC First Team All-Conference.  Graduating from Plymouth State, Brendahn left his name all over the record books for the program, he ranks 3rd in career Goals Against Average with a 2.27, 9th in career saves, 5th in career wins and 3rd in career shutouts.  His dominant 2022-23 season with the Panthers reflected his final season with the Little Flyers in the EHL during 2018-19, posting a 22-3-1 record and a 2.02 GAA for the #10 Nationally ranked Plymouth State.  Craig Russell, the 13-year Head Coach at Plymouth State had this to say about Brawley, "There are few guys that deserve this more than Brawls. He has reinvented himself and worked tirelessly at polishing his game. He came into his own during his junior season and capped it off with a record setting senior year. He knows there is work ahead of him and he's looking forward to the challenge. I know his skillset will translate well to the pro level and am looking forward to his debut in Knoxville this fall."

Prior to his time at Plymouth State, he dominated the Eastern Hockey League during the 2018-19 season, posting a 28-5-1 overall record with a 1.87 Goals Against Average and .936 save percentage.  Those numbers earned him the Goaltender of the Year Award and EHL First Team All-Star honors.  For his career in the orange and black, Brawley is currently 3rd all-time in career EHL wins with 51 and 2nd in all-time shutouts with 13.  “We’ve watched Brendahn work on his craft and get better each year as he moved up the ranks from his time here with the Little Flyers playing youth hockey to juniors then on to college and had a great career at the NCAA level” said Little Flyers EHL Head Coach and General Manager Mark Catron.  “It is a true reflection of the hard work and dedication he has put in over the years.  There are a lot of people here at IceWorks that have known him since he was an elementary league player so to see where he is now, everyone is so happy for him and his family to have earned this opportunity.”  The Knoxville Ice Bears are an inaugural charter member of the Southern Professional Hockey League which was established in 2004.  The Ice Bears call the Knoxville Civic Coliseum in Knoxville, Tennessee home.

On behalf of the entire Little Flyers organization, we’d like to congratulate Brendahn on his signing and wish him the best of luck with the Ice Bears.
