Little Flyers Prepare for Regular Season Opener- Roster Announced

It has been over a month since the Philadelphia Little Flyers started preparation for the coming weekend. Main tryout camp was held at the end of August and soon after the 2013-14 team began practice and off ice workouts to get ready for their inaugural season in the Eastern Hockey League.

With only 5 returning players from the 2012-13 season, new Head Coach Rocky Russo had quite a few roster spots to fill. “It has been quite a challenge based on the time frame.” Said Russo. “With that being said I am pleased with the recruiting efforts at this point and am excited to start the season.”

The Little Flyers have also taken a big step in regards to out of town players. The Billet program is in full swing as 17 of the current Little Flyer players are living with local families. “This has been an excellent experience for our family to this point.” Said Suzanne Malorgio. “Collin (Woods) and James (Moeller) already feel like a part of our family.”

The Little Flyers will take on their first two EHL opponents this weekend as they travel to New Jersey on Saturday to take on the Titans and then Sunday to Washington to face the Nationals. “This weekend will be a great test for us” Said Russo. “Both organizations have had great success in the past and look to have put together very good teams for the 13-14 season.”  “I expect to see great competition both games.” Both Little Flyer games can be watched at www.fasthockey.com.
