Nov 20, 2013

The Philadelphia Little Flyers, proud members of the Eastern Hockey League, have announced today that they have executed a trade with the Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League. The Little Flyers sent 1995 born Goaltender, TJ Black, to the Brahmas in exchange for 1994 born forward Drew Gannon. Gannon is originally from Plano, TX and played last season for the Dallas Stars Elite 18U program. This season Gannon has 1 goal and 2 assists in 9 games played. He has also registered 2 penalty minutes. Last season for the Stars Elite Gannon registered 16 goals and 13 assists in 40 games played. “We are very excited to add Drew to our organization.” Said Head Coach Rocky Russo. “He is a talented player with good speed and a real head for the game. We expect him to add some much needed offensive punch.” With the departure of Black, the Little Flyers expect to lean on the services of Alec Derks, as well as Greg Procopio. “Although we are always disappointed to see a player go, we are also very excited for TJ and the opportunity that he has been presented.” Russo Said. “I am confident in the ability of Alec and Greg to continue to play the goaltender position at a very high level for us.” The Little Flyers take on the Valley Jr. Warrior Saturday at 6:45pm and the Boston Bandits at 2:00pm. Both games will be played at the Aston Ice Works.
