In Aston, PA on Saturday, the Philadelphia Little Flyers skated on home ice to face off against the New Jersey Titans.  The Little Flyers coming off three games on the road, the Flyers look to take advantage of the comfort that comes with being on their ice, while the Titans will look to turn the momentum early and fire plenty of shots on net.  Goaltending hasn’t been a highlight of the titans current campaign, so they will have to rely on their modest offensive assets to put them ahead in this game.  The opposite can be said about the Little Flyers, as Alec Derks has been spectacular all season and looks to continue his winning ways in this game.

The Titans went ahead early in the first period.  Cameron Klein put a wrist shot just past the glove of Derks to give his team the early lead, just under 5 minutes into the game.  Just under ten minutes after the first goal, Jude Warner tied the game courtesy of a pretty passing play between Hector Majul, Matt Day, and himself.   Following that goal, Zach Felser put his 11th goal of the season past Titan netminder, Michael DePhillips to give the Little Flyers their first lead of the game.

The second period was entirely in favor of the Little Flyers. Beau Browning, Gabe Chuckran, and Hector Majul each found the back of the net for a 5-1 lead.   Despite 7 opportunities with the man advantage, up to this point, the Flyers only scored 1 of their 5 goals on the powerplay.

The titans Decided to change things u in the 3rd, by pulling Michael Dephillips, in favor of backup goaltender Doug Revak.  Hector Majul put his second goal of the game past Revak to extend the score to 6-1. Little Flyers’ coach, Rocky Russo, was very proud of his winger, stating “Hector has been a bit snake bitten lately, hitting a lot of posts and such. It’s good to see him get in there and score a couple tonight.” Despite a deflection goal by CJ Geeza, the Flyers were well on their way to victory.

The Little Flyers improve to 13-6-1-1 while the Titans fall to 8-14-2-1.  The Little Flyers face the New Jersey Rockets, who are only 3 points ahead of them tomorrow on the road.
