LITTLE FLYERS JUNIOR A ROSTER MOVES

With the USA Hockey trade deadline looming the Little Flyers have been busy making last second roster moves. In the first of 4 moves that the Little Flyers have made, the team acquired 1993 Left Defenseman Cole Pierce. “Cole is a junior Hockey veteran, playing in parts of two seasons for the Janesville Jets in the NAHL.” Said Coach Russo. “Cole is a smooth skating two way defenseman. We expect him to play in all situations and be one of the leaders of our defensive core.”

In another move the Little Flyers made a trade with the Minnesota Wilderness of the NAHL to acquire 1994 Right Wing Cameron Berry. “Cam is a very smart hockey player.” Said Russo. “He is capable of fitting in on any of our 4 lines and being a contributor in both 5 on 5 and via special team. He has picked up the systems very quickly and has been a great addition to our locker room.”

Not wasting any time the Little Flyers picked up 1994 Right Defenseman Cody Slocum from the Odessa Jackalopes. “Cody is another junior hockey veteran that spent 2 season with the Jackalopes. He is a stay at home D that can contribute on the power play.” Coach Russo said. “We expect him to log a lot of ice time and be a strong steady addition to the D core.”

Bringing in two defenseman brought about the need to make a move. In a separate move the Little Flyers traded 1994 Left Defenseman Nate Richards to the Flint Jr. Generals in the NA3HL. “Nate is a great kid and a very good player.” Said Coach Russo. “With the addition of Pierce and Slocum I felt it was in Nate’s best interest to move on.” I would like to personally thank Nate for his time here with our organization, and sincerely wish him the best of luck in his new endeavor.”

The Little Flyers hit the road this weekend to face the Walpole Express on Friday night and the Central Division leading Connecticut Oilers on Saturday night. Due to the Super Bowl festivities on Sunday the game vs the New York Bobcats has been postponed. A makeup date will be announced in the very near future.
