Jr A Sweep Walpole Advance to Quarterfinals

On Friday night the Little Flyers opened the first round of the EHL playoffs vs the Walpole Express. The Express opened the scoring after a scoreless first period. Garrett Gallagher knotted the game at 1 with assists from Drew Gannon and Gabe Chuckran. John Nugent put the Little Flyers ahead 2 to 1 with less than a minute left in the second period with assists from Troy Grahl and Zach Felser. Cameron Berry scored early in the third to give the Little Flyers a 3 to 1 lead with assists from Troy Grahl and Zach Felser. John Nugent sealed the game with an empty netter to give the Little Flyers the 4 to 1 win. Alec Derks stopped 20 the 21 shots he faced.

On Saturday the teams squared off for the second game of the series. Hector Majul opened the scoring for the Little Flyers with assists from Jesse MacIntrye and Troy Grahl. Oleg Potemkin made it 2-0 with assists from John Nugent and Cole Pierce but Walpole closed the gap to 2 to 1 less than a minute later. Oleg potemkin scored his second goal of the game with assits from Austin Kelly and John Nugent to make it 3 to 1. Drew Gannon scored less than 2 minutes later to put the game away for the Little Flyers the final was 4 to 1. Alec Derks stopped 19 of 20 shots.

The Little Flyers move onto the quarterfinals starting next Friday at Iceworks come out and support the team.
