The Little Flyers Offense continued to click this weekend as they played the final 2 games of a 6 game home stretch. The weekend started with the renewal of an old Rivalry as the Philadelphia Jr Flyers came to visit for the first time this season. After a scoreless 1st period The Little Flyers got on the board just over a minute into the 2nd period. John Nugent took the offensive zone faceoff and won it onto Oleg Potemkin’s stick, who rifled it over the glove of the Jr Flyer goaltender for a 1-0 lead. Not long after Blake Delisle got on the score sheet as he buried a rebound off the assists from Drew Gannon and Cam Berry to make it 2-0. The Little Flyers then took advantage of 2 penalties by the Little Flyers as they were able to score 2 powerplay goals in less than 80 seconds. Zach Felser scored the first off assists from Austin Kelly and Jesse Macintyre. Kelly scored just over a minute later on assists from Macintyre and Gabe Chuckran. Chuckran scored near then end of the period to make it 5-0 on assists from Cody Slocum and Drew Gannon and suddenly the route was on. The 3rd period brought 2 more goals as Kelly struck again. Macintyre and Jon Nugent registered assists on the 6th goal of the game. Phil Zbell scored shortly after to make it 7-0. Collin Charyszyn and Colin Woods were credited for assists on the goal. They Jr. Flyers managed to score on a 5 on 3 advantage late in the game but it was too late as the Little Flyers took home the 7-1 victory. Greg Procopio registered the win in Net for the Little Flyers, stopping 14 of 15 shots against.

         Sunday was billed as a matchup of first place teams as the Walpole Express visited the Little Flyers. The Express came into the matchup with a record of 10-2-2 and sitting in 1st place in the EHL Boston Division. The Little Flyers wasted little time showing their intent for the game as Blake Delisle scored on the 1st shift of the game. Cam Berry and Drew Gannon registered assists on the goal. Walpole tied the game at 1 at the 10:49 mark but the lead would last only :18 seconds as Oleg Potemkin would take a pass from Jon Nugent and deposit it over the glove of Miami-Ohio recruit Evan McCarthy. Gabe Chuckran was also credited with an assist on the play. Austin Kelly extended the lead to 3-1 just 2 minutes later as he beat McCarthy low to the stick side from outside the blue line. Jesse Macintyre and Chris Best added assists and just like that McCarthy’s night was over as he was pulled from the game after allowing 3 goals on 8 shots. The 2nd period started just as the 1st had finished as the Little Flyers added a 4th goal, this time off the stick of Jake Paluch. Potemkin and Chuckran assisted on the powerplay tally. Austin Kelly got back on the scoresheet just 5 minutes later, this time shorthanded on an assist from Zbell. Drew Gannon scored to make it 6-1 just 2 minutes later as Tyler Pietrowski and Cam Berry got assists on the goal. Again just 60 seconds later the Little Flyers were on the scoreboard again as Hector Majul scored on assists from Jon Nugent and Cody Slocum.  The Express scored on the powerplay late in the period to make the score 7-2 but that was as close as they would get. The Little Flyers would register 2 more goals in the 3rd period as Cameron Berry got on the board with assists from Kelly and Best. Potemkin would then net his 2nd of the game on the powerplay on assists from Garrett Gallagher and Macintyre. Trevor Micucci registered the win in net for the Little Flyers, stopping 31 of 33 shots faced.

        The Little Flyers travel to New Hampshire this weekend for the EHL Fall Showcase. They will take on the Boston Jr Rangers on Saturday at 4:20pm, the East Coast Wizards at 12:00pm on Sunday and the New England Wolves on Monday at 8:00am. All games are available at www.fasthockey.com.
