Giacobbo picks up the third star this week, his second time receiving a star of the week, after picking up a pair of wins against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights and the Valley Junior Warriors in the review period. The two victories propelled the Little Flyers back into the top spot in the Dowd Divison. Giacobbo allowed one goal against the Knights, making 31-saves and then added a 23-save shutout against the Junior Warriors to close out his weekend. To add to his impressive play in net, the Deptford, New Jersey native picked up his second assist of the season when he began the play leading up to a second period goal by Ryan Lauk (’98 birth year/Mullica Hill, N.J.).

“Being a ’98 birth year, Joe has stepped in and played with a lot of confidence this season,” said Little Flyers Assistant Coach John Giacobbo Jr. “He has a fierce desire to compete every game. You can see it in his eyes before the game and we know that when he is in a zone, we have a very good chance of winning the hockey game.”

·       Philadelphia Little Flyers defenseman Ryan Lauk (’98 birth year/Mullica Hill, N.J.)
