The Little Flyers are proud to announce that EHL Head Coach/General Manager Rocky Russo has been selected by the EHL Coaches as the Co-Coach of the Year for the 2014-15 campaign. In a record breaking year for the Little Flyers Russo guided the team to a 37-3-2-2 record and the EHL Regular season Championship. The 37 wins and 78 total points are the all time high in both categories for the Eastern Hockey League. The team scored a league record 206 Goals in 44 games while the stingy defense allowed only 75 Goals Against. The Little Flyers finished 1st in powerplay efficiency by scoring on 25.67% of their chances, while the Penalty Kill finished 3rd overall at 88.96%. The Little Flyers had 5 players elected to the EHL Mid Season all star team (Garrett Gallagher, Gabe Chuckran, Cameron Berry, Drew Gannon and Greg Procopio), as well as 2 1st team all EHL selections (Gabe Chuckran and Trevor Micucci) and a 2nd team all EHL selection (Drew Gannon). In addition Gabe Chuckran was named the EHL Defenseman of the Year and Trevor Micucci was named the EHL Goaltender of the Year. "We are extremely happy to see Rocky rewarded for his hard work" Said Little Flyers Owner John Giacobbo. "In 2 years he has turned our program into a top destination for Junior Hockey players, but more importantly he has been able to bring good character young men to our program who have had a positive impact on the community and our younger players." Russo was a bit surprised by the honor, " I am extremely humbled to receive such a great honor" Said Coach Russo. "There are so many great coaches in this league that it could have been many of them just as easily". Russo added "I would like to thank John and Rosemary Giacobbo for giving me the opportunity to coach in such a first class organization as well as providing me with the resources necessary to help us succeed".  "I would also like to thank my Assistant Coach Tj McCarthy for all his hard work as well as the rest of our staff for their commitment and selfless efforts to help us achieve such success." Russo made it a point to say, "I would like to congratulate Jon Lounsbury and the Walpole Express on his acknowledgement as well, he is certainly very deserving of the award."
