Jenny Guetens Named Billet Coordinator

We are in need of billet families for the upcoming season. Billet families are an important part of our organization they help sustain our Junior Program which someday our current youth players will be part of, below is a letter from our billet coordinator. Please consider becoming a billet family. Billet Families are compensated $300 a month the average compensation is $2400.

Thanks

My name is Jenny Guetens. In conjunction with Rocky Russo, I am the billet coordinator for the Philadelphia Little Flyers & Aston Rebels Junior programs. The teams are currently seeking host families (billet families) for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Players from the US & abroad will be recruited for this year’s teams. They are highly skilled and highly dedicated athletes that will be in need of a “home away from home” as they train daily and pursue their dream of playing collegiate hockey and beyond.

For the past two seasons my family has billeted for the Little Flyers organization. The experience was extremely rewarding. Our previous billets did go on to fulfill their NCAA hockey ambitions. We can’t wait to see them take the ice at the NCAA level! They were an excellent addition to our family and great role models for our son, not only in the aspect of hockey, but also at an academic level. Coach Rocky was involved with their ACT scores and pushed them to excel in their academics to better their opportunities. This experience builds fine young men.

At the home level, they were awesome extensions of the family! We enjoyed dinners together, hanging out watching movies, practical jokes, lots of rug hockey and of course cheering them on at their games. I have found that housing 2 players has its benefits. They are company for each other, help with ups and downs that come with the season, take turns driving to the rink, among other things. The players and their families are very appreciative and those relationships continue long past the season ending buzzer. Being a billet family is very rewarding and fun!

The idea is to provide a comfortable, clean, family environment that will help the player excel through the long season ahead. Meals and hydration are important. These players train at a very high level and require a good diet to maintain strength and endurance. There is a compensation package to help offset the cost of room and board. Coach Rocky has curfews and rules that they are expected to follow throughout the season, but they don't have much down time with the busy season schedule.

Please take the time to consider being a billet family and don't hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Jenny Guetens
