The Philadelphia Little Flyers traveled to Hudson, NH last weekend to take on 3 North Division Opponents in the 1st EHL Showcase of the season. After a 7 Hour Bus ride the Little Flyers took on the Boston Bandits. Just over 3 minutes into the game the Bandits got on the board to make the score 1-0. Tim Higginbotham tied the score at 1 on assists from Peter Hatton and Christian Karbler. The Bandits extended their lead to 2-1 and eventually 3-1. The Little Flyers had a flurry of opportunities late in the game but the Bandits goalie stood tall. Sam Kany took the Loss in net for the Flyers, stopping 20 of 23 shots.

Next up on the schedule was the Walpole Express. The two teams were very evenly matched and the game was up and down the ice and very competitive. The Little Flyers got on the board first on a 3 on 2 rush. Mikhasenok carried the puck into the zone on the left side, Ossowski Drove the center lane as the pass went cross ice to Phil Zbell. Zbell slid the puck to Ossowski, who found the back of the net for a 1-0 Little Flyer lead. The Little Flyers extended the lead on the Powerplay as Oleg Potemkin tipped in a Jon Waring point shot to take a 2-0 lead. Tyler Pietrowski recorded the 2nd assist on the goal. Walpole managed to cut the lead in half but Ossowski found the net yet again to finish the scoring at 3-1 and secure the Little Flyer win. Mikhasenok and Zbell assisted on the clinching goal. George Blinick earned his first win of the year stopping 21 of 22 shots.

Finally in the 3rd game of the Weekend the Little Flyers matched up with the Vermont Lumberjacks. The 1st half of the game was a sloppy game, muddled by turnovers and mistakes by the Flyers. Kany stood tall in the net for the Little Flyers throughout, keeping the score 0-0 going into the break. Half way through the 2nd half Ossowski did it again, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 Little Flyer lead. Mikhasenok and Zbell registered assists on the goal. 10 minutes later Oleg Potemkin found the empty net on assists from Pietrowski and Evan Heldt to ice the game and give the Little Flyers the 2-0 win. Sam Kany registered his first shutout of the season, stopping 21 of 21 shots on net.
