Stachitas Makes His NCAA Decision

2nd Little Flyer This Season to Make College Plans

The Philadelphia Little Flyers are proud to announce that Little Flyer Defenseman Bruce Stachitas has committed to attend Stephenson University to continue his education and playing career.  Stachitas, who is a 6’2, 210lb Right Shot Defenseman, has 5 goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 28 regular season games this season. He has tallied 4 powerplay goals and 6 powerplay assists as well as collecting 45 penalty minutes. Stephenson University, an incoming member of ECAC-WEST, will be a brand new program coached by former Neumann University Head Coach Dominic Dawes. “Bruce has been a tremendous asset to the Little Flyer organization both on and off the ice.” Said Little Flyer Head Coach Rocky Russo. “His veteran presence and experience has been instrumental in our continued success this season.” Stachitas commented, “I would like to thank my parents, teammates, Coach Russo and Coach Curley for helping me reach my goal of being an NCAA Student-Athlete.” Stachitas also added, “Coach Russo and Coach Curley having such a good relationship with Coach Dawes was a big factor in my decision. I am excited to play close to home and be a part of the Foundation of the Stephenson University Hockey program.” Stachitas and The Little Flyers travel to Newark, NJ this Sunday to faceoff against the NJ Rockets with the opportunity to clinch the South Division for the 3rd consecutive season.

Bruce is the 2nd Little Flyer to make his NCAA Plans this season, joining Little Flyer Captain Austin Kelly (University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point)
