Each day from now until Christmas we will sit down and talk to a player from the Little Flyers Eastern Hockey League Junior Team to discuss the holiday season.  Today we will kick things off by talking to Little Flyers second year goaltender Sam Kany. 

1.  Favorite thing about Christmas? “My favorite thing about Christmas is definitely being able to go home and see all my family and friends.  Just hanging out with them and spending some quality time catching up on things, sometimes is tough to be away from home for so long but its great to go home and see the dog as well”
2. Favorite Christmas tradition growing up as a kid?  “I grew up in Alaska so there’s a lot of snow and hills.  We’d go to the local school and go sledding as a family.  It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of tumbles but at the end of the day everyone had a smile so it was a good time.” 
3. What are you looking forward to most this holiday season?  “I’m looking forward to seeing my grandmother, we live in Arizona now and she’s flying down from Alaska to visit.  I haven’t seen her in a while so it’ll be fun to see her, were all getting older so it’s going to be good for everyone.”
4. Favorite Christmas Food?  “Definitely my mom’s Christmas bread.  She makes the bread and puts these little fruit candies in the bread; it’s to die for every single morning.”  
5. Favorite Christmas Movie?  “Hands down, Elf.  You can’t go wrong with Will Ferrell the guy cracks me up”
6. Favorite Christmas Song?  “All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey, she really has the voice of an angel”
7. Most Memorable Christmas? “So, we always eat a turkey for dinner and one year my dog jumped up on the table in the kitchen and ate the turkey before it got brought out so we didn’t get Christmas turkey that year”
8. Best gift you’ve ever received? “I got a BB gun finally, my mom kept putting it off, she kept telling me “your gonna shoot your eye out” but my dad gave in and I got the BB gun”
9. Worst gift you’ve ever received? “One year I was pretty naughty and I actually got real coal in my stocking so yea,……………  thanks mom”
10. Do you shop early or last minute? “Last minute for sure, I’m a last minute guy, everyone can attest to that.  Everything gets put off until the end”
11. Hardest person in your family to shop for? “My mom, she hates getting gifts so I usually get her a cook book just to rattle her”
12. Who would you rather drop the gloves with, The Grinch or Ebenezer Scrooge? “The Grinch has the reach and I’m not a tall guy myself so I’ll go with Scrooge”
13. Hot Chocolate or Egg Nog? “I’m a big Egg Nog guy, can’t go wrong there”
14.  If you could get one gift this year what would it be? “Besides not giving up any more soft goals this season so I can stop getting yelled at, I’d want a David Ortiz jersey, I’m a huge Red Sox fan”
