Being the Grinch, Goalie Pads, Mom's Apple Coffee Cake & More

Each day from now until Christmas we will sit down and talk to a player from the Little Flyers Eastern Hockey League Junior Team to discuss the holiday season.  On Day four we talked to defenseman #6 Ian Kwant

  1.  Favorite thing about Christmas? : “The Snow, I love the snow, love being around it, playing in it, with the family and friends”
  2. Favorite Christmas tradition growing up as a kid?  “Opening one present on Christmas Eve, I always look forward to that”
  3. What are you looking forward to most this holiday season?  “ Just being with my family and girlfriend,  I miss them a lot”
  4. Favorite Christmas Food?  “My mom makes this cinnamon apple coffee cake that’s to die for”
  5. Favorite Christmas Movie?  “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
  6. Favorite Christmas Song?  “ Rocking Around the Christmas Tree”
  7. Most Memorable Christmas? “When I was like 7 or 8 I got goalie pads for Christmas, I wanted to be a goalie for the longest time and I was so pumped.  I was really happy to get them”
  8. Best gift you’ve ever received? “It was the goalie pads for sure”
  9. Worst gift you’ve ever received? “My grandparents went to Africa a few years back and they got me this African War Club for Christmas and I have no clue what to do with it”
  10. Do you shop early or last minute? “Definitely an early shopper, I was out on Black Friday with my girlfriend and got everything done”
  11. Hardest person in your family to shop for? “Probably my sister,  she is really picky about everything”
  12. Who would you rather drop the gloves with, The Grinch or Ebenezer Scrooge? “My friends call me the Grinch so I’m going with Ebenezer Scrooge”
  13. Hot Chocolate or Egg Nog? “Egg Nog definitely”
  14.  If you could get one gift this year what would it be? “This pair of headphones from Sennheiser, I’m absolutely obsessed with them, I really want them”
