Aunt's Christmas Cookies, Scrooge & More

Each day from now until Christmas we will sit down and talk to a player from the Little Flyers Eastern Hockey League Junior Team to discuss the holiday season.  On day eighteen we talked to forward #23 Trevor Coykendall  

  1.  Favorite thing about Christmas?  "Going home and seeing my family, were all pretty close so being able to go home and see them over Christmas is awesome”
  2. Favorite Christmas tradition growing up as a kid? “Every Christmas Eve we go over my gramma’s house, we have dinner there then we all head to church for service at night, it’s awesome being able to go see the choir and everything”
  3. What are you looking forward to most this holiday season?  “Seeing my family and friends and being able to tell them about the fun things I’ve been doing out here” 
  4. Favorite Christmas Food?  “My aunt makes these great Christmas cookies that melt in your mouth when you have them, she makes them every year, they’re just to die for”
  5. Favorite Christmas Movie?  “Year Without a Santa Clause”
  6. Favorite Christmas Song?  “Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms”
  7. Most Memorable Christmas? “My Gramma got me a hockey net a bunch of years back and I still have it to this day it’s all dinged up in my garage"
  8. Best gift you’ve ever received? “The Net”
  9. Worst gift you’ve ever received? “Just socks”
  10. Do you shop early or last minute? “Last minute”
  11. Hardest person in your family to shop for? “ My Mom, she kind of just gets the same thing every year because I don’t know what to get her”
  12. Who would you rather drop the gloves with? The Grinch or Ebenezer Scrooge? “Probably Ebenezer Scrooge, he’s an old guy that probably can’t move very well”
  13. Hot Chocolate or Egg Nog? “I’ve never had Egg nog so Hot Chocolate with marshmallows”
  14.  If you could get one gift this year what would it be? “Some sticks because I’ve been breaking them lately so I’d like to get a bunch”
