Aston, PA -- The Philadelphia Little Flyers, members of the Eastern Hockey League are proud to announce 1997 birth year defenseman, Cale Coor, has committed to attend Southern New Hampshire University in the fall of 2018 to continue his education and hockey career.  Coor, a 5’10” 195lb native of Frisco, Texas is in his second full season with the Little Flyers EHL team.  The Southern New Hampshire University Penmen, coached by Sean Walsh are current members of the Northeast-10 conference.  “Getting to know the staff at SNHU over the past two seasons I can tell they are putting a plan in place for the future of the team and I’m excited that Cale is going to be a part of that.  We are all very proud of Cale for making his college commitment, it is much deserved and we all know he will do an excellent job” said Little Flyers EHL Head Coach and General Manager George Lewis.  He continued “For me personally, Cale being a returner who I’ve spent a lot of time with and the first commitment we’ve had as a new staff, so this one is a little extra special, we couldn’t be any prouder of him.”  In 53 career games with the Little Flyers, Coor has scored one goal and added 13 assists for 14 career points.  This season has seen the second year defenseman’s role expanded, logging more minutes during 5-on5 play and playing special teams in crucial situations.  “Cale has taken on a much larger role this season as a leader and as a guy we lean on to play critical minutes and produce.  We’re thrilled with the way he has progressed, we know he’ll continue to move in the right direction to not only help us with our goal of winning a Championship, but to be totally prepared when he steps on SNHU’s campus next fall” concluded Lewis.

“I’d first like to thank my family for giving me the opportunity to play hockey.  None of this would be possible without them, and they supported me all throughout my hockey career. I’d also like to thank all of my coaches that helped me while growing up in Dallas and taught me much of what I know about hockey.  I would like to thank Coach Russo and Coach Lewis for giving me the opportunity to play for such an amazing junior organization the last two seasons.  They pushed me to become a better player and helped me learn what I needed to play at the next level.   Another thank you goes out to The Giacobbo family and the entire Little Flyers organization for building a top-of-line team and supporting me in my junior hockey career.  Lastly, I would like to thank Coach Walsh and Coach Rowe for giving me this amazing opportunity to play college hockey at Southern New Hampshire University.  SNHU is a great school that offers an outstanding engineering education and has a hockey team I am proud to be a part of.  I am very happy and excited to get on the ice next season to be a part of the Penmen family.” Said Coor after announcing his college decision.

While Southern New Hampshire is Coor’s next destination, there is still a lot of hockey left to be played as a Little Flyer.  The team is currently sitting at second place in the Mid-Atlantic Division with a 17-6 record.  Coach Lewis gave the team a few days off to go home and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with their family and friends but will be right back to work early next week to get ready for the December stretch which includes eight games in 18 days.
