Little Flyers Alum Peterson Makes NCAA Division I Commitment

Aston, PA --  Philadelphia Little Flyers alumni, Alex Peterson announced his NCAA Division I commitment to the College of Holy Cross on Wednesday.  Peterson, currently plays for the Amarillo Bulls in the North American Hockey League under former Little Flyers EHL Coaches Rocky Russo and George Lewis. Alex played youth hockey in the Little Flyers organization as well as the 2016-17 season with the EHL program. 

                The 5’11” left handed forward from Lansdale, PA played in 44 regular season games during the 2016-17 season scoring 16 goals and adding 22 assists for 38 points in his first year of junior hockey.  The Little Flyers won the regular season and owned the number one seed heading into the EHL playoffs where Peterson caught absolute fire.  Peterson scored 13 goals in 12 post season games including 4 game winners.  Peterson’s biggest moment came in game 1 of the EHL Finals when he scored the game winning goal in Overtime to give the Little Flyers a 1-0 series lead against their rival Jr. Flyers.  “I want to thank my parents Rich and Denise, my sister Taylor, George (Lewis), the Giacobbo family and the Little Flyers organization, as well as Rick Matchett and the Amarillo Bulls organization” said Peterson in his statement to the Amarillo Bulls website.  On behalf of everyone in the Little Flyers organization we’d like to congratulate Alex and his family on his NCAA Division 1 commitment.
