Aston, PA --  The Philadelphia Little Flyers, members of the Eastern Hockey League are proud to announced 1998 birth year forward Bryce Witman has committed to SUNY-Fredonia for the fall of 2019 to continue his education and hockey career.  Witman, a 6’2” 200lb native of Reading, Pennsylvania is in his fourth season in the Eastern Hockey League.  “We are all really happy for Bryce, he came to us pretty much committed, I know he has been interested in Fredonia for a while and they committed him as soon as he got here.  What he means to our team, he is a big kid that can really shoot the puck, create and carry the puck through all zones.  We’ve seen him for the last few years in this league, and he’s always been a solid player, it’s great to have him on our team this year.  He did a lot of damage to us last season, he’s such a good all-around player with good size, I know he is going to do really well in college and have a great career at Fredonia” said Little Flyers Head Coach and General Manager Mark Catron.  Witman currently ranks 3rd all time in scoring in EHL history, playing three seasons for the Revolution before beginning this season for the North American Hockey League’s New Jersey Titans before joining the Little Flyers.  The SUNY-Fredonia Blue Devils compete in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) under 31 year head coach Jeff Meredith. 

“I want to thank my parents for all the long car rides, early mornings, and money spent.  I’d like to thank all my coaches who have helped me along the way including Mark Catron and Mike Narrigan.  Thank you to the Giacobbo family and the Little Flyers organization for all years squirt through midget and also taking me in so late into this season.  Finally, I’d like to thank my teammates that have been by my side every step of the way.  I am very excited to be a Blue devil this fall.  Thank you to Coach Meredith for giving me the opportunity to continue my academic and hockey career at an amazing school” said Witman after announcing his commitment for next season.

As Bryce mentioned, he was a career Little Flyer as a youth player, spending his squirt through midget years in the Black and Orange before joining the Revolution for junior hockey.  A trade in late January brought Witman back to his roots to finish his playing career where it all began.  In 149 career EHL games, Witman has scored 78 goals and added 73 assists for 151 points.  Since returning to the EHL, Witman has picked up right where he left off last season, tallying 9 points in three games so far.  On behalf of the entire Little Flyers organization we’d like to congratulate Bryce and his family.
